Skrdlovice #5650 Czech Pink & Blue Glass Vase by Emanuel Beránek

Description

A stunning, large and very heavy (3.3 kilos unpacked) Czech glass sculptural vase. In a stunning combination of pink glass encased in blue glass. Made by the Skrdlovice glassworks, I believe this was possibly designed by Emanuel Beránek in 1956, pattern number 5650. This piece is shown in the original Skrdlovice pattern book drawings, see last image (with kind permission, and copyright of Jindřich Pařík www.CzechGlassGuide.cz), but it is difficult to be certain from the drawings.

Size

Measures approx 11 inches tall by 4.25 inches in diameter at widest point.

Condition

Excellent condition, no chips or cracks other than a couple of tiny fleabites to the base rim, shown in final picture.
