Galliano Ferro Glass "Tutti Frutti" Bowl - Labelled

Product Number: WS5196

Here is an exquisite 1950/60's Venetian freeform glass bowl/dish, made on the island of Murano, near Venice, Italy. This piece was made by Galliano Ferro, and is VERY similar to the "Tutti Frutti" bowls made by A.Ve.M. (Arte Vetraria Muranese). I am told by the helpful folk at www.glassmessages.com that Galliano Ferro was one fo the founding members of AVeM, and when he left with his son Giorgio in 1955 to form his own company "Galliano Ferro", they continued to make similar pieces for some time. We are very lucky that this bowl still bears it's original factory label which reads G. F. Made in Italy, Murano, otherwise it would be virtually impossible to tell it apart from the AVeM bowls! Decorated with silver leaf, patches of copper Aventurine, latticino/zanfirico strands, and multicoloured twisted ribbon canes. All of this is surrounded with an outer casing of blue glass. A fabulous item, in a wonderful shape, it catches the light beautifully. Would make an excellent display piece!

Measures approx 2.25 inches tall by 5.5 inches in diameter at widest point.

Excellent condition, no chips or cracks.
