Galliano Ferro Murano Geode Red & Amber Sommerso Glass Bowl

Description

Here is a wonderful large and very heavy (1.8 kilos unpacked) 1950/60's Venetian glass geode bowl, made on the island of Murano, near Venice, Italy. Attributed to Galliano Ferro, similar items with this large dimple effect have been seen with labels [Link]. In a stunning combination of orangey red glass cased in amber glass, which is further encased in clear glass, using the renowned Venetian sommerso technique.

Size

Measures approx 3.5 inches tall by 5.5 inches in diameter at widest point.

Condition

Excellent condition, no chips or cracks other than a microscopic fleabite to the rim, shown in final picture.
