Description

Here is a wonderful 1950/60's Venetian glass 'geode' bowl/dish, made on the island of Murano, near Venice, Italy. These bowls were made by several manufacturers, including Archimede Seguso and Cenedese.  Very similar items by these makers are shown in the book Italian Glass: Century 20 by Leslie Pina.  In a stunning combination of red glass cased in a band of green glass, which is further encased in clear glass, using the renowned Venetian sommerso technique.

Size

Measures approx 2.25 inches tall by 6.25 inches in diameter at widest point.

Condition

Excellent condition, no chips or crack other than a tiny fleabite to the rim, and a small scratch to the underside, all shown in final pictures.
