Murano Sommerso Faceted Uranium Glass Block Vase

Description

Here is a wonderful Venetian glass vase, made on the island of Murano, near Venice, Italy. This style of glassware is usually attributed to Mandruzzato. In a stunning combination of blue glass cased in a band of uranium yellow green glass, which is further encased in an angular block of clear glass, using the renowned Venetian sommerso technique. Glows bright green in UV light.

Size

Measures approx 5.25 inches tall by 1.5 inches in diameter at widest point.

Condition

Has a couple of minute fleabites to the rim, and signs of possible restoration to the outside rim where the bevelled edging is more noticeable. This is very common with these items and hard to know if it was done at the factory or later. All shown in final pictures.
