Barovier & Toso "Zebrati" Murano Gold Leaf Glass Bowl

Product Number: WS4618

Description
Here is a wonderful large and very heavy 1950/60's Venetian freeform glass bowl/dish, made on the island of Murano, near Venice, Italy. I believe this piece was made by Barovier & Toso, part of their 'Zebrati' range. A similar piece can be seen in the book 'Italian Glass: Century 20' by Leslie Pina, page 140. In a stunning combination of pink speckled cased glass with a white swirling pattern, and loads of Gold Leaf inclusions encased in the glass! A fabulous item, in a wonderful organic form, it catches the light beautifully. Would make an excellent display piece.

Size
Measures approx 3.25 inches tall by 8.25 inches in diameter at widest point.

Condition
Excellent condition, no chips or cracks other than a tiny nick to one corner of the rim, shown in final picture. Please note, all four corners have a slightly rough feel to them - this is due to the way the glass was pinched and pulled outwards during the manufacturing process and is not damage.
