LABELLED Isle of Wight Studio 'Azurene Red' Glass Globe Vase

Description

A beautiful small orange glass 'globe' vase with gold and silver leaf inclusions, designed by Michael Harris in collaboration with William Walker in 1978, for his renowned British glassworks Isle of Wight Studio, part of the Azurene pattern range. Bears the original factory label to the base (worn). Officially this rare colourway, in production only between 1986-87, was called "Azurene Red", but in reality it is more of an orange colour.

Please note: Although this vase is obviously too small to hold a bunch of flowers, it is still classed as a vase. Small vases like this were often used to hold flower heads, or miniature "sweetpea" flowers, or simply used as decorative ornaments.

Measures approx 4 inches tall by 4 inches in diameter at widest point.

Excellent condition, no chips or cracks.
