MARKED Wedgwood Lilac/Pink Glass Polar Bear Sculpture L5009

Description

A stunning British pink/lilac glass paperweight sculpture of a polar bear.  Made by Wedgwood, pattern number L5009. Manufacturing mark to base. From the Lilliput range of animals + plants designed by Ronald Stennett-Willson and Paul Miller in the 1970's. Must have some neodymium in the glass mixture, as it changes colour slightly depending on the lighting source (see pictures). It appears pink/lilac in natural sunlight or yellow artificial light, and develops a smoky blue tint in fluorescent/white light.

Size

Measures approx 2.5 inches tall by 3 inches in diameter at widest point.

Condition

Has a bruise mark to one side, shown in final picture.
