Here is an exquisite 1950/60's Venetian freeform glass bowl/ashtray, made on the island of Murano, near Venice, Italy. Attributed to A.Ve.M. (Arte Vetraria Muranese), similar items are shown in the book "Fifties Glass" by Leslie Pina (page 50). Decorated with silver leaf, patches of copper Aventurine, white Zanfirico lattice filigree, twisted ribbon canes, and multicoloured murrines! All of this is surrounded with an outer casing of dark red glass.

Please note: the plastic stand is for display purposes only and is not included.

Measures approx 2 inches tall by 4.5 inches in diameter at widest point.

Has a nibble to one side just below the rim, and a faint dull patch to the rim edge where a tiny chip may have been ground out, all shown in final pictures.
