Chřibská #296/6/16 Czech Pink & Orange Glass Basket Bowl

Description

A wonderful Czech glass sculptural basket shaped bowl. In a stunning combination of pink and orange glass encased in clear glass. Made by the Chřibská glassworks, designed by Josef Hospodka, pattern number 296/6/16. Shown in a 1970's and 1999 Chřibská catalogue, and issue 10 of the 1979 Czech Glass Review, see last images (with kind permission, and copyright of Jindřich Pařík www.CzechGlassGuide.cz).

Size

Measures approx 6.75 inches tall by 4.5 inches in diameter at widest point.

Condition

Excellent condition, no chips or cracks. To be highly critical, there is a small area to the base rim, where the bevelled edge is more noticeable. Most likely just the way it was made at the factory, but the possibility of later minor restoration (tiny chip ground out) can't be completely ruled out. Shown in final picture.
