Description

A wonderful Victorian pressed glass basket bowl, made in white milk glass (also known as vitro-porcelain glass. Made by British company Sowerby in the 1880's, and bears their trademark of a peacock on the outside base, and a design lozenge on the inside base. This design, pattern number 1157 is shown on page 1 of Sowerby's Illustrated Pattern Book No IX, issued in June 1882. This particular colour range was called Blanc de Lait.

Size

Measures approx 3 inches tall by 4.75 inches in diameter at widest point.

Condition

Excellent condition, no chips or cracks.
