Iwatsu Japanese Multicoloured Cased Glass Retro Jug / Vase

Description

A multicoloured cased glass vase in the style of a jug, made in Japan by the Iwatsu glassworks, part of their Hineri range.  Often mistaken for Murano glass, but items from this range can be found with labels that read "IW, Hineri, Made in Japan". Often these were exported by a wholesaler / distributer named Kamei, and are sometimes labelled  "Kamei, Made in Japan". Consists of orangey red, blue and yellow swirls encased in clear glass. Has a shallow concave polished pontil to the base.

Size

Measures approx 5.75 inches tall by 8.75 inches in diameter at widest point.

Condition

Excellent condition, no chips or cracks other than a couple of small nicks to the base rim, shown in final picture, and a couple of small surface scratches.
