Iwatsu Japanese 'Best Art Glass' Yellow, Blue & Red Vase

Description

A large and heavy yellow, red and blue cased glass vase, made in Japan by the Iwatsu glassworks, part of their Hineri range. Often mistaken for Murano glass, but items from this range can be found with labels that read "IW, Hineri, Made in Japan". Often these were exported by a wholesaler / distributer named Kamei, and are sometimes labelled "Kamei, Made in Japan". Has a shallow concave polished pontil to the base.

Size

Measures approx 12 inches tall by 6 inches in diameter at widest point.

Condition

Excellent condition, just a few small nicks to the base rim, shown in final picture.
