Barbini Murano Biomorphic Red & Black Glass Gold Leaf Bowl

Description

This is a magnificent 1950/60's Venetian biomorphic glass bowl, made on the island of Murano, near Venice, Italy. Most likely made by Barbini. In a stunning combination of opaque red glass cased in black glass, with a wonderful controlled bubble effect known as 'a bolle' and gold leaf inclusions encased in the glass.

Size

Measures approx 2 inches tall by 4.5 inches in diameter at widest point.

Condition

Has a small, faint bruise mark to the inside rim, a couple of fleabites to the outside rim, and a few surface scratches to the underside, all shown in final pictures. There is also an intact manufacturing air bubble to the inside base.
