Here is a beautiful large and heavy (1.2 kilos unpacked) 1950/60's Venetian freeform glass bowl / ashtray, made on the island of Murano, near Venice, Italy. This piece was made by Fratelli Toso, and designed by Ermanno Toso. Similar items from this range can be seen in the book "Italian Glass: Century 20" by Leslie Pina, pages 168 - 171. In a stunning combination of dark cranberry pink + opaque white cased glass, with golden coloured copper Aventurine patches. Still bears the blue "Murano Glass" label used on Fratelli Toso pieces (very worn). A fabulous item, in a wonderful organic shape, it catches the light beautifully. Would make an excellent display piece!

Measures approx 2.5 inches tall by 10.5 inches in diameter at widest point.

Good condition, just a few small nicks to the rim, shown in final pictures.
