Description

Here is a beautiful large and heavy 1950/60's Venetian freeform glass bowl / ashtray, made on the island of Murano, near Venice, Italy. This piece was made by Fratelli Toso, and designed by Ermanno Toso. Similar items from this range can be seen in the book "Italian Glass: Century 20" by Leslie Pina, pages 168 - 171. In a stunning combination of opaque white cased glass, with patches of pink and blue spots, and golden coloured copper aventurine inclusions. Still bears the blue "Murano Glass" label on the base, used on Fratelli Toso pieces.

Size

Measures approx 3 inches tall by 8.5 inches in diameter at widest point.

Condition

Excellent condition, no chips or cracks, just a manufacturing flaw to the inside of the bowl, shown in final picture.
