Description

Here is a wonderful 1950/60's Venetian glass 'Geode' bowl/dish, made on the island of Murano, near Venice, Italy. This piece was probably made by Archimede Seguso or possibly Cenedese. Very similar items by these makers are shown in the book Italian Glass: Century 20 by Leslie Pina. In a stunning combination of cherry red glass cased in a band of blue glass, which is further encased in clear glass, using the renowned Venetian Sommerso technique. A fabulous item, in a wonderful geode shape, it catches the light beautifully.

Condition

Excellent condition, no chips or cracks other than a couple of tiny fleabites to the inside rim. Also has an uneven base, possibly due to restoration, but the bowl sits straight. All shown in final pictures.
