Description

Here is a wonderful 1950/60's Venetian glass 'geode' bowl/dish, made on the island of Murano, near Venice, Italy. These bowls were made by several manufacturers, including Archimede Seguso and Cenedese.  Very similar items by these makers are shown in the book Italian Glass: Century 20 by Leslie Pina.  In a stunning combination of green glass cased in a band of yellow glass, which is further encased in clear glass, using the renowned Venetian sommerso technique. The small amounts of Uranium in the glass cause this bowl to glow bright green in UV light.

Size

Measures approx 2.75 inches tall by 4 inches in diameter at widest point.

Condition

Excellent condition, no chips or cracks other than a minute fleabite to the inside rim, shown in final picture.
