Murano Purple & Green Sommerso Glass Vase

Description

A large, organic glass vase, probably made on the island of Murano, near Venice, Italy. In a stunning combination of purple glass cased in green glass, which is further encased in clear glass, using the renowned Venetian sommerso technique.

Size

Measures approx 10.5 inches tall by 4.25 inches in diameter at widest point.

Condition

No chips or cracks, just a couple of smooth, slightly indented areas to the base rim, shown in final pictures. These could possibly be the result of minor restoration (tiny chips ground out?) or it could simply be the way it was finished at the factory.
