Cristallo Venezia CCC Murano Blue & Amber Sommerso Glass Bowl

Description

A Venetian organic glass sculpture bowl, made on the island of Murano, near Venice, Italy. Most likely made by the Cristallo Venezia CCC glassworks. Very similar pieces with the same star shaped base can be found online with labels that read "Cristallo Venezia, CCC". To see some labelled examples, please see my Pinterest board here. In a stunning combination of blue glass cased in amber glass, using the renowned Venetian sommerso technique.

Size

Measures approx 4.5 inches tall by 9.25 inches in diameter at widest point.

Condition

No chips or cracks, but has signs of possible minor restoration to the tip of one of the pulled and curled prongs, shown in final picture. To my eye there is no glass missing, but this frosted matt finish is usually an indication of a chip having been ground out. Only noticeable on close inspection and does not detract.
