Iittala Tapio Wirkkala Blue Glass "Tumbler 4090" - Label

Description

A stunning Scandinavian blue glass "Tumbler 4090" tumbler. Made by Iittala of Finland, and designed by Tapio Wirkkala in 1955, in production 1956 - 1961. Shown in the book "Iittala - 125 Years of Finnish Glass", page 245, and on the Designlasi website [click here]. Still bears the original factory label (worn).

Please note: This item is described as a tumbler in both the reference sources mentioned above. Please note the size given below however, as it may be smaller than one would expect a tumbler to be.

Size

Measures approx 3.25 inches tall by 3.25 inches in diameter at widest point.

Condition

Excellent condition, no chips or cracks, just a couple of small surface scratches, and a couple of intact manufacturing air bubbles in the glass.
