Isle of Wight Studio/Harris 'Victorian' Blue Glass Vase

Description

A beautiful glass cylinder vase, designed by Jonathan Harris in 1989, for the renowned British glassworks Isle of Wight Studio, part of the Victorian pattern range. This range came in several colours mixed with either gold leaf or silver leaf. According to Mark Hill's excellent book on Mdina and Isle of Wight Studio glass, these included green with gold leaf, and blue with silver leaf. I have to confess, I'm not sure which one this is! The colour looks more blue to me, but it seems to have a golden sheen to it, and according to the book, blue with gold leaf was not used. I suspect it is most likely blue with silver leaf. Still bears the original factory label on the base.

Size

Measures approx 5.5 inches tall by 1.75 inches in diameter at widest point.

Condition

Excellent condition, no chips or cracks.
