Description

A wonderful Victorian pressed glass jug/creamer, made in creamy white milk glass (also known as vitro-porcelain glass. Made by British company Sowerby in the 1880's, and bears their trademark of a peacock on the inside base, as well as a design lozenge. This design, pattern number 1346 is shown on page 6 of Sowerby's Illustrated Pattern Book No IX, issued in June 1882. This particular colour range was called Queen's Ivory, and contains small amounts of uranium in the glass, which cause it to glow bright green under UV light.

Size

Measures approx 2.75 inches tall by 3 inches in diameter at widest point.

Condition

Excellent condition, no chips or cracks.
