Sowerby Art Deco Uranium Glass Nude Lady Centerpiece Set

Description

A wonderful art deco frosted green glass nude lady figurine + bowl centerpiece set. Made by British company Sowerby in the 1930's, pattern number 2565. Small amounts of uranium in the glass mixture cause it to glow bright green under UV light, a harmless and interesting feature which has become very collectable these days.

Size

Measures approx 7 inches tall by 10 inches in diameter at widest point.

Condition

There is a small nick to the bowl rim, and a couple of nicks to the base of the flower frog. There are a couple of small shallow lines in the glass which look a bit like fractures, but they are not in positions which would easily be knocked, so I think they are more likely just folds in the glass from manufacturing. All shown in final pictures. Also mentioned for accuracy, some minor water marks to the base of the flower frog.
