Description

A stunning Victorian 1890's British glass "thorn" vase. Consists of a tubular opalescent yellow green glass flower holder with rustic stylised tree root "feet", and pulled out thorns. A similar vase is shown in the book Victorian Decorative Glass by Mervyn Gulliver, page 98. Most likely made by John Walsh Walsh from Birmingham, England. Made in vaseline/uranium glass, which glows bright green in UV light.

Size

Measures approx 3.5 inches tall by 2.5 inches in diameter at widest point.

Condition

Excellent condition, no chips or cracks other than a very small nibble to one of the "feet" on the base, which has been partially ground out No glass seems to be missing from the end of the foot, and it does not affect how the vase stands. Shown in final picture.
