MARKED & LABELLED Langham Black & Gold Glass Elephant

Description

A stunning British black glass paperweight sculpture of an elephant, with lots of gold leaf inclusions. The base colour is actually a very dark purple, which appears black unless held up to the light.  Made by Langham Glass, manufacturing mark to base and labelled.  Based on the range of animals + plants originally designed by Ronald Stennett-Willson and Paul Miller for Wedgwood in the 1970's.  Langham was set up by Paul Miller in 1979 after he left Wedgwood, where production of many of these animal designs continued, and many new designs were added.

Measures approx 2.75 inches tall by 3 inches in diameter at widest point.

Excellent condition, no chips or cracks.
