Description

A stunning Czech pale blue glass vase with black speckled base, the glass is made up of thousands of tiny frothy bubbles, a Venetian developed technique known as pulegoso. Made by the Beránek glassworks in the late 1940's, designed by Emanuel Beránek in 1945, pattern number 4575. This piece is shown in the original Skrdlovice pattern book drawings, see last image (with kind permission, and copyright of Jindřich Pařík www.CzechGlassGuide.cz), and also shown in the excellent book Beránek & Skrdlovice, Legends in Czech Glass by Robert Bevan-Jones and Jindřich Pařík, page 8.

Size

Measures approx 3 inches tall by 2.75 inches in diameter at widest point.

Condition

Excellent condition, no chips or cracks other than a tiny nick to the rim, shown in final picture.
