Description

A wonderful Victorian pressed glass posy trough, made in white Milk glass (also known as Vitro-Porcelain glass. Made by British company Sowerby in the 1880's, and bears their trademark of a peacock on the base. This design, pattern number 1293 1/2 is shown on page 5 of Sowerby's Illustrated Pattern Book No IX, issued in June 1882, and is known as "Oranges and Lemons", after Walther Crane's illustrations in a childrens nursery rhymes book. This particular colour range was called Blanc de Lait. A stunning item, which would make a great addition to any collection!

Size

Measures approx 1.75 inches tall by 4.5 inches in diameter at widest point.

Condition

Excellent condition, no chips or cracks, just a few manufacturing flaws in the glass, normal for these items.
