Description

A beautiful Victorian 1890's clear glass vase with applied green trailed decoration, crimped rim and ground & polished pontil mark. Possibly made by British manufacturer Stuart & Sons, from the famous glass making area of Stourbridge. A very similar vase, same shape but with 12 crimped sections instead of 14 as in this case, is attributed to Stuart & Sons, circa 1897, in the book Victorian Decorative Glass by Mervyn Gulliver, page 120. Designs such as this were also produced by other English factories, including Stevens & Williams, Thomas Webb and Richardson. Bohemian/Czech maker Harrach are also known to have made some similar glassware.

Size

Measures approx 3.25 inches tall by 5.5 inches in diameter at widest point.

Condition

Excellent condition, no chips or cracks.
