Cenedese Murano Labelled Neodymium / Alexandrite Glass Paperweight

Description

Here is a beautiful, heavy Venetian glass paperweight, made on the island of Murano, near Venice, Italy, by Cenedese, and still bears the original factory label. Made in neodymium glass (also known as alexandrite glass), which changes colour according to different lighting conditions!! The paperweight appears lilac in natural sunlight or yellow artificial light, and smoky blue in fluorescent/white light (see pictures)!This is due to the presence of neodymium oxide (Nd²O³) in the glass. Also features an internal blue glass bubble.

Measures approx 3.5 inches tall by 4 inches in diameter at widest point.

Excellent condition, no chips or cracks.
