Murano Vintage Green & Amber Sommerso Glass Swan Figurine

Description

Here is a wonderful large and heavy 1950/60's Venetian glass swan sculpture, made on the island of Murano, near Venice, Italy.  In a stunning combination of green glass cased in amber glass, which is further encased in clear glass, using the renowned Venetian sommerso technique.

Size

Measures approx 7.5 inches tall by 5.25 inches in diameter at widest point.

Condition

No chips or cracks, just a bit of a sharp finish to the tip of the beak, which I assume is how it was made, as it points inwards towards the body and would be very hard to chip. Also from the manufacturing process is a slight ripple in the glass near the beak, most likely a tooling mark from when the beak was being shaped, all shown in final picture.
