Aureliano Toso / Dino Martens Mezza Filigrana Glass Bowl

Description

Here is a wonderful 1950's/60's Venetian glass bowl, made on the island of Murano, near Venice, Italy. Made by Aureliano Toso and designed by Dino Martens. The design is known as Mezza Filigrana. Decorated with alternating stripes of blue, brown, purple and white Filigree strands and copper aventurine. Items for this range are shown in the book Dino Martens, Muranese Glass Designer by Marc Heiremans, page 172.

Size

Measures approx 2.25 inches tall by 7 inches in diameter at widest point.

Condition

Excellent condition, no chips or cracks, just a couple of surface scratches to one side, shown in final picture. In the same area there are a couple of small, smudge like pale patches inside the glass layers, from the manufacturing process, see final picture.
