Barbini Murano Large Gold Leaf Biomorphic Blue Glass Bubble Bowl

Description

Here is a wonderful large and very heavy (1.8kg unpacked) 1950/60's Venetian freeform glass bowl/ashtray, made on the island of Murano, near Venice, Italy. Most likely made by Barbini, whoc are well known for using this pattern, technique and colour. In a stunning combination of opaque pastel blue cased glass, with loads of gold leaf and controlled bubbles encased in the glass.

Size

Measures approx 2.5 inches tall by 7.25 inches in diameter at widest point.

Condition

Has a couple of tiny rim nicks, a faint bruise mark to the inside, and a few surface scratches, all shown in final pictures.
