Barovier & Toso "Zebrati" Murano Gold Leaf Glass Bowl

Description

Here is a wonderful 1950/60's Venetian freeform glass bowl/ashtray, made on the island of Murano, near Venice, Italy. Attributed to Barovier & Toso, possibly from the 'Zebrati' range. In a stunning combination of clear cased glass with a green striped pattern, large controlled bubbles, and loads of gold leaf inclusions encased in the glass.

Size

Measures approx 2.75 inches tall by 7.25 inches in diameter at widest point.

Condition

Has a long faint line to the underside, which looks like a crack, except it only goes less than a millimetre deep into the glass. It's also pretty much invisible unless you turn the bowl upside down and tilt it at just the right angle to catch the light. Shown in final picture.
