Carlo Moretti Marbled Purple & White Murano Glass Vase - Labelled

Description

This is a magnificent Venetian purple & white marbled glass vase or candle holder, made on the island of Murano, near Venice, Italy. It was produced by Carlo Moretti, and similar items are shown in the excellent book "Italian Glass - Century 20" by Leslie Pina, page 49. Still bears the original factory label on the base.

Size

Measures approx 4.25 inches tall by 3.5 inches in diameter at widest point.

Condition

Excellent condition, no chips or cracks, just a couple of minute manufacturing dimples to the rim, very hard to spot. I've tried to show these in the final picture. Probably originate from when the rim was ground flat and bevelled during production.
