Fratelli Toso Millefiori Canes Pink Murano Glass Vase

Description

This is a magnificent Venetian glass miniature decorative vase, circa 1900 - 1914, made on the island of Murano, near Venice, Italy. Made by Fratelli Toso, the distinctive pink and white murrine cane is shown in the book 'Fratelli Toso Italian Glass 1854-1980' by Leslie Pina, page 32. Made up of loads of pink + white floral millefiori murrine canes.

Please note: Although this vase is obviously too small to hold a bunch of flowers, it is still classed as a vase. Small vases like this were often used to hold flowerheads, or miniature "sweetpea" flowers, or simply used as decorative ornaments.

Size

Measures approx 3 inches tall by 1.5 inches in diameter at widest point.

Condition

Excellent condition, no chips or cracks, just a small bit of sand or grit in the glass from the manufacturing process, very common for these items, and shown in final picture.
