Fratelli Toso? Murano Silver Leaf & Coloured Canes Black Glass Bowl

Description

Here is an exquisite 1950/60's Venetian freeform glass bowl/ashtray, made on the island of Murano, near Venice, Italy. Decorated with silver leaf, and multicoloured murrine canes. Surrounded with an outer casing of black glass. Attributed to the Fratelli Toso factory. Bears three labels on the base - a pattern number label found on Fratelli Toso glass, a "Castle" import label, which is almost always associated with Fratelli Toso production, and a generic Murano label found on glass made by multiple factories.
