Description

Here is an exquisite large and heavy 1950/60's Venetian freeform glass bowl/ashtray, made on the island of Murano, near Venice, Italy, by the Fratelli Toso factory. A similar bowl is shown in the book Fratelli Toso, Italian Glass 1854 - 1980 by Leslie Pina, page 99. Examples of this pattern with the blue and silver Fratelli Toso label can be found [here], [here] and [here]. Very similar to the "Bizantino" series (commonly referred to by collectors as "tutti-frutti") by the AVEM factory. Decorated with multicoloured zanfirico lattice filigree, twisted ribbon canes, and copper aventurine.

Measures approx 3.25 inches tall by 8 inches in diameter at widest point.
