MARKED Venini Murano Brown & Amber Sommerso Glass Bottle Vase

Description

Here is an exquisite large and heavy (1.8kg unpacked) 1950's/60's Venetian brown, amber and clear sommerso glass bottle vase. Made on the island of Murano, near Venice, Italy, by famous manufacturers Venini, and bears their circular acid stamp manufacturing mark to the base, which reads: "Venini, Italy, Murano". According to the book "Murano Glass Themes and Variations" by Marc Heiremans, this mark was used from the mid 1950's until the early 60's. May once have had a stopper present, but if so this is now missing.

Measures approx 8 inches tall by 4.25 inches in diameter at widest point.

Condition

Excellent condition, no chips or cracks, just a few small surface scratches to the shoulder area, shown in final picture.
