Description

Here is a wonderful 1950/60's Venetian glass 'geode' bowl/dish, made on the island of Murano, near Venice, Italy. These bowls were made by several manufacturers, including Archimede Seguso and Cenedese. Very similar items by these makers are shown in the book Italian Glass: Century 20 by Leslie Pina. In a stunning combination of purple glass encased in blue glass, using the renowned Venetian sommerso technique.

Size

Measures approx 2 inches tall by 4 inches in diameter at widest point.

Condition

Good condition, just a few minute fleabites to the rim, and a couple of minor surface scratches to one side, all shown in final pictures.
