Murano Geode Green & Amber Sommerso Glass Zig Zag Bowl

Description

Here is a wonderful large and heavy 1950/60's Venetian glass 'geode' bowl/dish, made on the island of Murano, near Venice, Italy. This piece was probably made by Archimede Seguso or possibly Cenedese. Very similar items by these makers are shown in the book Italian Glass: Century 20 by Leslie Pina. In a stunning combination of green glass cased in a band of amber glass, which is further encased in clear glass, using the renowned Venetian sommerso technique.

Measures approx 2.5 inches tall by 6.75 inches in diameter at widest point.

Condition

Excellent condition, no chips or cracks other than a couple of minute fleabites to the rim, shown in final pictures.
