Ferro & Lazzarini Murano Blue & Amber Sommerso Glass Swan

Description

Here is a wonderful 1950/60's Venetian glass swan sculpture, made on the island of Murano, near Venice, Italy, by the Ferro & Lazzarini factory. Still bears the original factory label, very worn and faded. Examples of a slightly larger version of this label can be found online, with the factory name included. In a stunning combination of blue glass cased in amber glass, which is further encased in clear glass, using the renowned Venetian sommerso technique.

Size

Measures approx 5.5 inches tall by 6.5 inches in diameter at widest point.

Condition

Excellent condition, no chips or cracks, just a dimpled area to the base rim, smooth to the touch and looks more like a flaw than a chip, also has a small flaw/air bubble inside the neck, all shown in final pictures. Lastly, just mentioned for accuracy, there are a couple of small surface scratches.
