Murano Italian Red & Amber Sommerso Glass Vintage Vase

Description

Here is a wonderful large and heavy Venetian organic glass vase, made on the island of Murano, near Venice, Italy. Manufacturer unknown, possibly by Arte Nuova based on the style. In a stunning combination of red and amber glass encased in clear glass, using the Venetian developed sommerso technique.

Size

Measures approx 8.5 inches tall by 5 inches in diameter at widest point.

Condition

Has a couple of small but deep scratches to one side, and a couple of tiny nicks to the base rim, all shown in the final two pictures.
