Oball Murano Venetian Red & Pink Sommerso Glass Vase

Description

Here is a wonderful chunky, and very heavy (2.6kg unpacked), Venetian glass vase. Made on the island of Murano, near Venice, Italy, most likely by the Oball glassworks, based on the style, size and weight. No markings other than what appears to be a Murano retailer/shop label to the base. In a stunning combination of red glass cased in a band of pink glass, which is further encased in a thick layer of clear glass, using the renowned Venetian sommerso technique.

Size

Measures approx 10 inches tall by 5 inches in diameter at widest point.

Condition

Excellent condition, no chips or cracks, just a couple of manufacturing air bubbles, perfectly normal for hand blown glass.
