Description

A Venetian organic glass ashtray bowl, made on the island of Murano, near Venice, Italy. Made by Arte Nuova in the 1950's/60's. Still bears the original factory label which reads "Arte Nuova Murano, Grand Prize, Genuine Venetian Glass, World Fair Brussels 1958". The factory was open only for a relatively short time, from 1954 to 1965. In a stunning combination of pink glass cased in uranium yellow green glass, which is further encased in clear glass, using the renowned Venetian sommerso technique. The small amounts of Uranium in the glass cause this bowl to glow bright green in UV light.

Measures approx 1.75 inches tall by 4.5 inches in diameter at widest point.
