Fratelli Toso #30285 Murano Brown & Amber Sommerso Glass Basket Vase

Description

Here is a wonderful Venetian organic glass basket shaped vase, made on the island of Murano, near Venice, Italy. Made by Fratelli Toso, pattern number 30285, this design is shown in the book Fratelli Toso Murano 1902 - 1980, by Marc Heiremans, page 332. In a stunning combination of reddish brown glass encased in amber glass, which is further encased in clear glass, using the Venetian developed sommerso technique.

Size

Measures approx 7.75 inches tall by 5.25 inches in diameter at widest point.

Condition

Excellent condition, no chips or cracks other than a small nick to the base rim, shown in final picture, and a couple of minor surface scratches.
