Murano Sommerso Vintage Turquoise & Green Glass Stem Vase

Description

Here is a wonderful 1950/60's Venetian glass stem vase, made on the island of Murano, near Venice, Italy. In a stunning combination of turquoise glass cased in green glass, which is further encased in clear glass, using the renowned Venetian sommerso technique.

Please note: although classed as a vase, the opening at the top is very small, just 4 x 2 mm, so it would be a struggle to find a flower stem that would fit inside this vase.

Size

Measures approx 10.25 inches tall by 3.25 inches in diameter at widest point.

Condition

Excellent condition, no chips or cracks, just some minor internal staining from use, or possibly just fine dust. I haven't tried to clean it with water, with the hole being so small it would be very difficult to get the water out again. A lot of it cleaned out with a bit of wire, but really needs a decent thin wire pipe cleaner. Also has a faint manufacturing ripple in the glass on one side. All shown in final pictures.
