Murano/Sommerso Red + Uranium Glass Donkey Sculpture

Description

Here is a beautiful 1950/60's Venetian glass donkey sculpture, made on the island of Murano, near Venice, Italy. This piece is unmarked, but from the colours used it could possibly be by Cenedese. In a stunning combination of cherry red glass encased in uranium yellow green glass, using the renowned Venetian sommerso technique. Glows bright green in UV light Still bears the original generic Murano glass label.

Measures approx 5.5 inches tall by 8.5 inches in diameter at widest point.

Excellent condition, no chips or cracks.
