Arte Nuova Murano Pink & Uranium Green Sommerso Glass Bowl

Description

A Venetian organic glass bowl, made on the island of Murano, near Venice, Italy. Made by Arte Nuova in the 1950's/60's, unmarked, but this design can be found online with a label which reads "Arte Nuova Murano, Pustetto & Zanetti, Made in Italy". In a stunning combination of cranberry pink glass cased in uranium yellow green glass, which is further encased in clear glass, using the renowned Venetian sommerso technique. The small amounts of Uranium in the glass cause this bowl to glow a brilliant bright green in UV light.

Size

Measures approx 2.5 inches tall by 6.5 inches in diameter at widest point.

Condition

Has a couple of bruise marks to the base underside, and a couple of very tiny bruise marks to the top, all shown in final pictures.
