Arte Nuova Murano Sommerso Blue & Uranium Yellow Glass Vase

Description

Here is a wonderful Venetian glass vase, made on the island of Murano, near Venice, Italy.  Made by Arte Nuova in the 1950's/60's, unmarked.  This exact design can be found online, baring labels which read "Arte Nuova Murano, Grand Prize, Genuine Venetian Glass, World Fair Brussels 1958". Other examples have a label which reads "Arte Nuova Murano, Pustetto & Zanetti, Made in Italy".  The factory was open only for a relatively short time, from 1954 to 1965. In a stunning combination of blue glass encased in uranium yellow green glass, which is further encased in clear glass, using the Venetian developed sommerso technique. Glows bright green in UV light.

Measures approx 7.5 inches tall by 4 inches in diameter at widest point.

Condition

Excellent condition, no chips or cracks, just a slight unevenness to the rim, a quirk of hand blown glass, see pictures.
